Although co-ordinating ICT is a complex and demanding job, many ICT co-ordinators have very little specific training. As well as being full-time class teachers, most ICT co-ordinators:

• develop curricula and schemes of work;
  
  
• make decisions about purchasing both software and hardware;
  
  
• provide day to day support for colleagues in their use of ICT;
  
  
• advise other subject co-ordinators on the purchase of subject-specific software;
  
  
• negotiate with suppliers;
  
  
• manage the maintenance and repair of the school’s ICT equipment;
  
  
• monitor the work of their colleagues;

Using my own extensive experience as an ICT co-ordinator I can provide individualised support for ICT co-ordinators to help them develop the skills and knowledge they require. Support can include advice on choosing hardware and software and project management. I could support co-ordinators in monitoring the use of ICT in the school by carrying out joint lesson observations.
