What can you do to protect yourself and your computer? |
|
You maintain your own health and well being by:
- keeping your inoculations up to date;
- maintaining a healthy lifestyle eg. exercising, eating well, maintaining a good level of personal hygiene and taking care with your own safety and security;
- when all else fails, take medicine.
Keeping your computer healthy is pretty similar…
- Inoculations: You can install and run programs which monitor your computer for attacks and neutralise them before they cause a problem;
- Lifestyle: Keeping your computer files tidy, remembering to back up your important data, being careful about the programs you install, running software that helps to keep your computer clean and tidy, and thinking carefully about which e-mails you open and which you answer will all help to keep your computer working healthily;
- Medicine: Despite everything you do, you may still get attacked. There are a variety of ways of cleaning up and repairing when this happens.
